Alzheimer’s Association Announces A Telephone Support Group for Caregivers

The Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter has announced that it will provide a Telephone Caregiver Support Group for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The purpose is to reach those caregivers who could benefit from a support group, yet find it difficult to travel to a meeting site. The group is designed to provide emotional, educational and social support for caregivers through regularly scheduled meetings; help participants develop methods and skills health to solve problems and encourage caregivers to maintain their own personal, physical and emotional health.

The calls with occur monthly on the last Thursday of each month beginning January 31, 2013. The time of the call is 10:00-11:30 am. Please call 1-800-272-3900 or 207-772-0115 for more information about joining the group. The contact is Bill Kirkpatrick.
