Adult Day Services / Home Care Combination

Advantage Home Care is collaborating with the Sam L. Cohen Adult Day Care Center in Biddeford, Maine. Together, we’ll offer families a unique option for their loved ones with memory impairments including Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The Cohen Center, managed by the Southern Maine Agency on Aging, offers the latest in person-centered care. They provide participants with a safe environment that encourages socialization, healthy choices and maximum independence. Combined with the quality care at home offered by Advantage Home Care, clients can choose a rich and well-rounded program that will reinforce best practices for dementia care in both home and day settings.

Activities offered during a typical day at the Center by its highly skilled, creative and caring staff might include:

  • art projects
  • painting programs
  • pet therapy
  • dance and movement
  • music programs
  • entertainment
  • gardening
  • baking
  • exercise programs
  • reminisce programs
  • word-based games

The Cohen Center offers both half day and full day programs Monday through Friday. Transportation for participants can be provided on a limited basis from various pick up points in the greater Portland area for a nominal fee. In certain circumstances Advantage Home Care can provide one way transportation to or from the center on days when home care services and adult day services are used in combination.

Participants pay with private funds, long-term care insurance or with MaineCare funding or Veterans Administration benefit programs.
