About Our Caregivers
Why Our Caregivers Are the Cream of the Crop
From a very personal experience of my own with caregivers, I, Richard Blumenthal, founded Advantage Home Care in 2008. After suffering a series of mini-strokes, my mother insisted on remaining in her home despite a number of physical and cognitive challenges. At that time, options for care at home were more limited. It was further complicated by the fact that all of her children lived out of state. Geographical boundaries created a challenge in assessing the quality of care that she required.
Our Caring Staff
The criterion I use to hire and place a caregiver is always based upon one simple, but imperative, question: Would I send this person to care for my own mother? The answer must always be “yes”. This means that each person I send out has been thoroughly screened and trained to provide the highest quality of care. The process is comprehensive and includes drug screening, background check, credit check, reference check, and multiple personal interviews. Through this process I identify quality caregivers with a deep respect and love for working with seniors. As the founder and President, I am ultimately responsible for my clients’ care. I constantly work to continue the highest quality for our clients. I maintain a high level of staff supervision in the field. The commitment to client safety and quality care is the foundation of my business. I initiate frequent client contacts to ensure care goals are being met. My staff receives mandatory and ongoing training to continually enhance the quality of care throughout their assignment. We also employ a third party provider to regularly survey our clients to ensure the highest level of care.Personal and Meaningful Relationships
Compatibility between caregiver and client is imperative. To ensure a good fit, the backgrounds and personalities of both are matched as closely as possible to cultivate a personal and meaningful relationship. This beneficially affects client attitudes about receiving care, establishes trust, and offers emotional relief to family members. Committed and Highly Qualified Caregivers
Advantage caregivers are totally committed, highly qualified and carefully selected by the owner, who always asks the question, “would I send this person to care for MY mother?” They undergo a criminal background check and drug test, and are bonded and insured. Once these screens are passed, they receive continuous training that includes a specialized curriculum exclusive to Advantage Home Care.
Dependable and Caring
Most importantly, Advantage caregivers are dependable and extraordinarily caring of others. Listen to one of our wonderful Advantage Home Care providers, Debbie C., talk about what it is like to provide care in people’s homes and to work for Advantage Home Care.
